In a period when quality high rainfall cattle breeding and fattening properties are scarce, Prestwick provides an excellent opportunity to purchase a quality working cattle property with scale, in an excellent location, steeped in the history of rural Australia, and with a very good homestead and operating improvements.

Prestwick is situated on top of the Great Dividing Range, close to the rural villages of Weabonga and Niangala. The property is serviced by the well-established rural township of Walcha, 35km to the north, and the city of Tamworth 58km to the west.
The property is subdivided into approximately 26 main paddocks. The boundary is netted with some hot wire, with internal fencing mainly 2 plain and 3 barbs. There are two efficient laneways providing access to and from the cattle yards to the western and northern ends of the property. Approximately 785ha (1,940 acres) is cleared grazing country, ranging from wide open valleys to the east and some steeper hill country fronting Mulla Creek to the west.

Rated to carry 500 breeding cows, the property is today carrying 450 breeding cows and calves with 80 replacement pregnancy tested in calf heifers. This equates to approximately 10,000 DSE’s or 3.5 DSE per acre (8.5 DSE/ha). It is estimated that with further clearing and pasture improvements that carrying capacity could be further enhanced.

The improvements overall are a feature of the property. Over the past 12 months considerable time and expense has been outlayed in upgrading the homestead, increasing the machinery and hayshed capacity, installation of a first class large scale set of ‘all steel’ cattle yards and two efficient laneway systems leading to the northern and western paddocks.

Prestwick is well watered, with a 2.5km frontage to Mulla Creek on the southern and western boundaries, a series of approx 31 large spring fed dams all of which have been renovated in recent times and some spring fed creeks.
