    After nearly 100 years of ownership in the one family, Willowie on the Landsborough highway east of Ilfracombe is being offered for auction on December 8th 2016.

    The property is 15,298.62ha (37,802 acres) + permit to occupy stock route 1105ha (2730 acres) equalling a total grazing area of approximately 16,403ha (40,500 acres).

    It is centrally located 50km from both Longreach and Barcaldine to its boundary and has a further 8km bitumen access on the Dandaraga Road to all but 2km from the homestead and yards.

    The country comprises of high quality Mitchell grass downs with a mixture of soils, balanced with gidyea, boree, bauhinia and vinetree cover. In 2005 over 10,000 acres of gidyea was also cleared adding significantly to its productive capacity. The property is watered by 3 sub artesian bores and 8 dams. It is also home to a large 5 bedroom Queenslander and established garden ideal for family living, plus a 3 bedroom workers cottage.

    In the last 6 months the property has received 16 inches of rain which has brought on a massive body of in season herbages ideal for fattening. It is currently destocked and offers the successful purchaser the opportunity for early stock access. Willowie has traditionally been a sheep operation and occasional cattle with three sets of sheep yards and six stand shearing shed and quarters.
